General Information:
Travelling with Greyhound is the most independent and economical way of travelling
around Australia. And if you’re a student or backpacker, it’s even cheaper. For
even more choice, you can use your Greyhound pass on all McCafferty’s Express
Coaches and double your travel options. Greyhound and McCafferty’s offer the choice
of over 900 destinations daily. There are two passes to choose from – the Aussie
Kilometre Pass or the Aussie Explorer Pass.
Aussie Kilometre Pass:
This is the most flexible pass - you simply purchase the amount of kilometres
you want to travel - from 2,000 to 20,000 - and you can travel anywhere on the
national network to the distance purchased. This pass is for those who haven’t
decided on their itinerary and for those who may want to backtrack (the other
pass doesn’t allow this).
How Many Kilometres Will I Need?
Click on the chart below to see how many kilometres you’ll need. This chart shows
approximate distances between popular destinations. Choose your departure and
arrival location and follow the grid line until they meet in the middle.
This is the approximate distance in kilometres you need to purchase, e.g. Sydney
to Cairns = 2,945km so you’ll need to purchase a 3000km pass (or more if you plan
on taking side trips).
